T.W. EDITING
- ABOUT THE EDITOR -
Teryn E. Weinhandl is an editor with a genuine love for literature. She specializes in supporting writers in all stages of their manuscripts with professional guidance using both developmental and copy editing. With two years of editorial work in a traditional publishing house and freelancing, she has worked on manuscripts of over 75,000 words, collaborated on and proofed jacket copy, and mastered the art of timelines. In the spring of 2023, she was chosen to study literature in Scotland and grew in her understanding of language, culture, and writing through attending classes and workshops. Teryn is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a Critical Studies of Literature degree. She enjoys reading and working on historical fiction, memoirs, and high fantasy books. When she is not behind the pages of those works, she can be found spending time with her dog, who is aptly named Samwise.
Finally, as the finishing touch, I turn to proofreading, scouring the pages for any lingering errors or typos that may have slipped through the cracks. With a meticulous eye and unwavering attention to detail, I ensure that the final product is ready to captivate readers.

Then comes the task of copy editing, where every sentence is scrutinized for clarity, coherence, and consistency.
- Copy Editing -

The next step is developmental editing, where I delve into the structure and content, shaping the narrative arc and refining character development.
- Developmental Editing -

When a manuscript is accepted the author can expect commitment to quality and dedication to uphold their unique voice. My editing process starts with a thorough read-through, putting myself into the author's world to grasp the essence of their vision.

- THE PROCESS -
I aim to communicate as much as possible so that authors are informed about what is happening. I know that this process is a collaboration more than anything else. Throughout each step of the editorial process, my goal remains constant: to honor the author's vision, elevate the quality of the work, and produce a masterpiece that resonates with readers long after the final page is turned.
